Russian Triathlon Junior Championship 2018 will be held in beautiful Kazan, Tatarstan

On August 5, Kazan will host the Russian Triathlon Junior Championship 2018 in sprint distance: 0,75 km swimming, 20 km cycling, and 5 km running. About 150 athletes will take part in the competition and the start of race will begin in the heart of the city near the walls of the Kazan Kremlin.

Residents and guests of the city will be lucky to watch the interesting and beautiful struggle of Russia’s strongest triathletes in the category of 16-19 years. Start will take place on August 5 at 10am.

The swimming course of the triathlon competition will begin the water area of the Kazanka river. The race will begin with a spectacular mass start from the pontoon on the Kremlin embankment.

After leaving the water, the participants of the competition will go to the transit area and then to the cycling stage, the route of which passes through the main streets of Kazan, the Millennium Bridge, past the famous Chasha (Chalice) observation platform, the Kazan Kremlin, Qolşärif Mosque, the Kazan Arena stadium, and other places of interest of the capital of Tatarstan.

The traffic in the city center will be partially limited for the duration of the competition. After the race athletes will return to the transit area, leave the bicycles and go to the running stage on the Kremlin embankment, and then – to the finish.

The Championship of Russia will become a kind of a general rehearsal before the bigger event – the final of the European Triathlon Championship in the sprint race which will be held in Kazan on 26-28 July, 2019.
