The IRONMAN Tallinn in the full distance was held in Estonia for the first time on 4 August 2018! A world class event IRONMAN 70.3 hosted in Otepää from 2016 now have a «big brother» in the capital of Estonia on the most legendary brand-race in the planet – IRONMAN Triathlon is a 3,86 km swim, 180 km bike and 42,2 km run – 226 kilometres altogether!

IRONMAN Tallinn 2018 is a biggest triathlon festival in the Baltic States. The program of a sports weekend in the Estonian capital also included very interesting competitions for beginners and youth athletes:
⇒ Telia Triathlon 4:18:4 in the Seaplane Harbour (Estonian Maritime Museum) 400 m swimming, 18 km bicycle, 4 km run – ideal for the first triathlon.
⇒ Pom’bel IRONKIDS Tallinn – youth aquathlon and running events for children up 5 to 15 age old.

Of course, all the attention of spectators and sports fans was concentrated on the main race of IRONMAN Tallinn 2018. Triathlon competition with so many participants Tallinn took for the first time and immediately showed the highest level of organization.
1243 finishers ⇒ 1075 individual athletes and 56 relay teams from 52 countries!
1200 volunteers helped in organizing this wonderful festival in Tallinn!
More than 2000 participants competed in IRONMAN Tallinn 2018, and also side events such us Pom’bel IRONKIDS races, Seve Ehitus Charity Run, Telia 4:18:4 short distance triathlon.
40 slots to participate IRONMAN World Championship in Hawaiifor triathletes from Estonia, Finland, Russia, Poland, Japan, Great Britain and others countries in this race in Tallinn!

3.8 km Swim
The one-loop swim starts and takes place in Tallinn Bay in the Baltic Sea and the start is next to the historic and modern Seaplane Harbor Museum where T1 transition area is located as well.

The aquatorium provides everybody a unique and special swim area. The temperature was around 17-19° C.

180 km Bike
The two-loop bike course leads participants through Haabersti municipal district out of the city towards Paldiski up to Türisalu cliff, with a magnificent view along the coastline and through nearby villages and municipalities. The road conditions are good with some possible windy parts. The fast and fear bike course gives a chance to everybody to enjoy the seaside and green areas of Estonia with less than 1000 m elevation in total.

Later the course goes back to city and towards Freedom Square and T2 at race center.

42.2 km Run
The run course is special and something to remember indeed. Up Toompea hill, where are the Estonian Parliament’s premises at Toompea Castle, Nevski cathedral; around the medieval beauty of Tallinn towards Seaplane Harbour and back to race center four times before turning on the legendary finish line on Freedom Square.

The running course in IRONMAN Tallinn has a unique rolling terrain with best historical surroundings and endless emotional hotspots cheering you on before and for finish line.
