Daniil Sapunov is another PRO Athlete, who announced that will start in Enea IRONMAN 70.3 Gdynia on 11th August 2019. For Ukrainian triathlete it’s the second time in Gdynia. In 2016 he took a second place. This year he is ready to fight for another podium.

Daniil Sapunov is a professional Kazakhstan (since 2002 till 2009) and Ukrainian (until 2002 and since 2010) triathlete. He is a 3-times Olympic Games participant (Athens 2004: 17th for Kazakhstan; Beijing 2008: 21st for Kazakhstan; London 2012: 42nd for Ukraine). Sapunov also represented Kazakhstan at the Asian Games 2006 and won a bronze medal. In the eleven years from 2000 to 2010, Sapunov took part in 95 ITU competitions and achieved 56 top ten positions, among which 13 medals. He was the best Ukrainian triathlete in the Men Olympic Ranking London 2012. Since 2015 he is successfully competing in IRONMAN Triathlon Series.

Also Nils Frommhold (GER) and Helle Fredriksen (DEN) are willing to start in Gdynia this year.

Daniil Sapunov is the founder and head coach of the biggest triathlon club in Ukraine for amateurs and PRO athletes – «Sapik Team». Every year a few dozen of Sapik Team athletes take part in IRONMAN 70.3 Gdynia. We are glad to see you at the race again, dear friends!
