Kings of triathlon are heading to Prague – five time World Champion and winner of last year’s Ironman Javier Gómez and latest long distance World Champion Pablo Dapena will not be missing at unique race which will take place on Saturday, July 28, 2018 in the centre of Prague.
35-year-old Spaniard will start at the extraordinary race within CHALLENGE FAMILY with bib number one. “It is great news. Javier Gómez is exceptional personality of the triathlon world. He chooses his program very carefully and it is a great honour for us that he includes race in Prague,” says the race director Tomáš Vrzák.

Francisco Javier Gómez Noya, as it is his full name, has been devoted to sport since his childhood. He was playing football and competing in swimming. He took up triathlon at the age of 15. He is the winner of five World Championships, he is the silver medallist from 2012 London Olympics, four times European Champion and he holds three Triathlon World Cup titles (2006, 2007 and 2008).
“I am excited about coming back to the Czech Republic. First and last time I was there for European Cup in 2003. I am happy to see that I still keep same motivation after 15 years of career. I think it will be very special to swim in the Vltava River and run through the historical center of Prague,” says Gómez.
In 2014 and 2017, Javier Gómez won the IRONMAN 70.3 series and in 2012 he dominated the XTERRA Triathlon.

One of the best triathletes of history will have a strong competition at the start of FORD CHALLENGE PRAGUE as the last year’s winner Pieter Heemeryck, latest long distance World Champion Pablo Dapena or Maurice Clavel will not be missing.
The attractive triathlon race will take place on Saturday, July 28, 2018. The interested people can still register in the categories TRY-ATHLON and JUNIOR at www.challenge-prague.com.
