Starts in Susz Triathlon competition always began with aquathlon competitions, in which children aged 10-13 started first, followed by the youth (14-15 years old) and juniors (16-17 years old) – for several years, and were the beginning for a press coverage of Susz competitions. Almost 130 contestants took part in the children’s and youth aquathlon races in the last year’s edition of the event in Susz.

Introducing a child to the world of a demanding and versatile sport is not an easy task. Before the young competitors feel the satisfaction of crossing the limits and doing their best, they first need to enjoy the physical effort, understand the sense of sport competition and feel its atmosphere. Unfortunately, it is often not easy for their over-ambitious parents and judges who take the children’s competitions too seriously.

The situation is different in Susz. The beautiful tradition of the oldest national triathlon competitions and the 28 year-long experience of the organizers and judges of this competition also pays off in the approach to the youngest players. It is no coincidence that children races are the first points of the schedule during Susz Triathlon. All this to reduce stress and make it easier for novice adepts to concentrate. In “the capital of Polish triathlon” the young participants can also rely on the special support from the exceptional Susz fans.

– “If I was to recommend any competition in Poland to a beginner amateur triathlete, regardless of his or her age, it would be Susz, a place where I made my debut” – says Łukasz Grass, a journalist and promoter of Polish triathlon, administrator of Triathlon Academy website. His words are confirmed by many positive opinions of young participants who gained their first triathlon skills in Susz.
