October 17 is getting closer and so are the World Athletics Half Marathon Championships Gdynia 2020 together with the accompanying virtual mass race. As part of the buildup, you can compete in “Fast 10k with Paula Radcliffe”challenge.
With the actual mass race in Gdynia eventually cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions, all runners are invited to the virtual platform All You Need Is Running where – apart from the main competition on October 17 – a series of warm-up virtual events have been available. So far, various challenges were presented by such athletics greats as: Sebastian Coe, Eilish McColgan, Yared Shegumo and Stefano Baldini. Now, it is the one and only Paula Radcliffe who invites for a fast 10k run as the final test before running a half marathon in mid-October.
– World Half Marathon Championships has a very special place in my heart. It was my first world title. I won three World Half Marathon Championships and all of them were extremely special to me. I would like to invite you all to take part in a 10k challenge as part of the buildup to the World Athletics Half Marathon Championships 2020 in Gdynia. This year we have to go virtual. So let’s join from all over the world, wherever you are and be a part of the world’s largest half marathon. See you there! – says Paula Radcliffe.
The “Fast 10k with Paula Radcliffe” challenge is open until October 11. Anyone can join by signing up to www.AllYouNeedIsRunning.com. The aim is to test one’s shape before the main competition on October 17. On this day, world’s best elite runners will compete for world champion titles on the streets of Gdynia while amateur runners all over the world will be joining them virtually. Registration for this virtual mass race is still open and free of charge.
