The 2019 Gwangju FINA World Masters Swimming Championships, a global festival of sports enthusiasts, full of harmony, friendship, and touching moments, came to its conclusion with the closing ceremony on August 18, 2019.

The over 3,000 masters athletes participated in swimming events, and showcase the drama and victory of the human spirit. Masters swimming is a special class of competitive swimming for swimmers 25 years and older.

Japan’s Toshiko Amano (93 years-old) is the oldest participant in the FINA World Masters Swimming Championships Gwangju 2019. Born in 1926, Amano is the oldest competitor at the biennial global festival of aquatic sports enthusiasts.
