In the Olympic Center Kipsala on the bank of Daugava river in Riga, May 26-27 hosted the 2018 Latvian Masters Swimming Championships. Very nice weather, a gorgeous 50-meters pool, the best team of friends from different countries – it’s amazing the Latvian Open Masters!
For two intense days, the masters swimmers representing the 35 European clubs from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Belarus and Czech Republic competed in the Kipsala Aquatic Center.

In fair sports competition, the absolute winner of the 2018 Latvian Masters Swimming Championships was Vladislav Bragin from the Swimmpower Prague!

Vladislav Bragin (age group M45-49) wins a 50m breaststroke (29.92), 100m breaststroke (1:05.83) and 200m breaststroke (2:27.32) and celebrates the victory in the general classification of the Latvian Masters Open Championship.

The best female swimmer in Latvian Masters Open 2018 was a Regina Sych from Pregel Kaliningrad (Russia). At the age group W30-34 and overall of women she was the best in 50m freestyle (27.72), 100m freestyle (1:00.25), 1500m freestyle (19:56.23) and 50m butterfly (30.40).

Great thanks to Aivars Platonovs and his professional team for the best organization of this Championship on the high sports level! Latvian Swimming Federation makes a big steps in the development of the Masters events in Europe. Latvian Open Masters (50m / long course pool) and Riga Amber Cup (25m / short course pool) is a two very interesting championships in the Baltic States.
