The Boston Triathlon captures the essence of the city – historical, scenic, fun and exciting. As a participant in the triathlon, you’ll swim in the fresh waters of Dorchester Bay, bike through Boston city streets, and run along the scenic Southie shoreline. More than 2000 athletes from different countries will be compete in the annual Columbia Threadneedle Investments Boston Triathlon!

In 2020, we are thrilled to announce that the Columbia Threadneedle Investments Boston Triathlon will once again join other major urban triathlons in the U.S. as an Olympic Distance Race! The start and finish will be at DCR Carson Beach and DCR Mother’s Rest Fields, and will take advantage of the closed roads and pathways along the South Boston shoreline.

Comfort water temperature and a surface as smooth as glass – the perfect way to start a great day. The bike route of the Boston Triathlon is flat and fast with near perfect pavement. More than 200 volunteers ready to help out, providing water, snacks and assistance to the athletes along the route!
