
244 swimmers from 10 countries took part in the Baltic Open Masters Swimming Championships 2018 in Riga. This international swimming tournament in Latvia, which organized every year in February has a brand name – Riga Amber Cup.
A rich sports program during weekend, a beautiful short course (25m) pool of the «Daugava Sports Centre» and the participation of famous masters swimmers make these competitions one of the most interesting in the Baltics States.



Teams from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Poland and Czech Republic competed and won medals of masters championships.


Professional timing and young referee team made these starts at the highest level.


In men events, the battle for the main award of the Riga Amber Cup 2018 was between the masters of the breaststroke.

Igor Kozlovskij (M25-29) from Lithuania (Klaipedos plaukimo klubas) won a general classification – 50m breaststroke (27.81 – 1049 pts), 100m breaststroke (1:00.70 – 1067 pts), 200m breaststroke (2:14.92 – 1079 pts).

Among women’s competitions in the Baltic Open Masters Swimming Championships 2018, for the main prize fought the specialists of freestyle swimming.

Regina Sych (W30-34) from Russia (Pregel Kaliningrad) – the best female masters swimmer of championship – 50m freestyle (26.74 – 934 pts.) and 100m freestyle (58.57 – 944 pts.).

The fastest results of the Riga Amber Cup 2018 showed Viacheslav Semhaikin (M30-34) from Ukraine (Wolfpack) – 50m freestyle (22.86), 100m freestyle (50.10), 50m butterfly (24.36), 100m butterfly (53.69). Viacheslav is a World and European Masters Swimming champion.
